Women's Hockey World Cup: India crashed out after a 1-0 loss to Spain
Very bad news has come out for India as India crashed out of Women's Hockey World Cup 2022 after losing 1-0 to Spain.
It was a do or die match for the Indian women's hockey team but the Indian team fought hard in the match till the 3rd quarter but Spain scored in the 4th quarter.
Indian women's hockey team earned 4 penalty corners in this match but once again the Indian team did not manage to score a single goal while performing poorly.
India and Spain were playing a bit defensive in the first quarter but in the second quarter, Spain attacked India with a goal and dashed India's hopes.
Spain were playing with just nine players in the fourth quarter as García got a yellow card and Segu got a green card. It was a great opportunity for India to score a goal.
But the Indian team also squandered this opportunity and crashed out of the medal race after losing 1-0 at the hands of Spain.
Now India will play its next match against Canada on Tuesday. Now in the quarter finals, New Zealand will take on Germany, Netherlands will take on Belgium, Australia will take on Spain and England will take on Argentina.
The Women's FIH Women's Hockey World Cup 2022 began on 1 July and will run till 17 July 2022. It is being held in Amstelveen, Spain and Netherlands.
