World top football player Cristiano Ronaldo on Thursday turned the all-time main scorer in international men’s soccer. He scored two goals against Ireland in the previous match.
Ronaldo scored twice in the last minutes of the match to arrange a 2-1 win for Portugal, thus grabbing three factors. It was Ronaldo’s evening to recollect in opposition to Ireland. But there was an incident that led to him slapping Ireland’s defender Dara O’Shea earlier than taking the penalty kick.
Why incident took place?
While Ronaldo was becoming ready for the penalty kick on the penalty spot, Dara O’Shea kicked the ball away. The kick by O’Shea made Ronaldo frustrated. In result, Ronaldo bounced back by slapping the defender(O’Shea) in his shoulder.
O’Shea instantly fell to the bottom holding his face. However, Ronaldo escaped any punishment because the referees didn’t catch the incident.
Moreover, Ronaldo was awarded a yellow card for his shirtless celebration in the match.
What happened in the penalty kick?
This was one of the rarest moment for the Cristiano Ronaldo. As, his penalty kick was stopped by Ireland’s young goalkeeper Gavin Baznu.
However, something more frustrating was waiting for the Portugal’s captain. As Ireland took the lead in the match after John Egan kicked a goal in the forty fifth minute.
Ronaldo Bounced back
Ronaldo then scored twice within the 89th and 90+6′ minutes of the FIFA World Cup Qualifier on the Estadio Algarve, taking him to 111 targets for Portugal – two forward of the earlier record held by Iran’s Ali Daei.
