History Of IPL

Firstly, IPL was started in April 2008 by Lalit Modi, Vice President of BCCI at that time. Rajasthan Royals won the first season in 2008. As the name suggests, the Indian Premier League(ipl full form) is held in India in which players from all over the world participate. Most importantly, players are selected by bidding, on the basis of which the owner of the team bids more than that team, the players play from that team. The name of the founder of the IPL is Lalit Modi who started the IPL in 2008. And he was the chairman of the IPL from 2008 to 2010. Above all, Lalit Modi was also the chairman of the Champions League from 2008 to 2010 and was also the vice president of BCCI from 2005 to 2010. Firstly, under the new time limit, now both the teams are given 90 minutes each in IPL to bowl 20 overs.

2)Strategic Timeouts

Secondly, two strategic timeouts are given to each of the teams in an IPL match, which are of 5 minutes. There is a total of 4 strategic timeouts in an IPL match.

3)Players

In a match, 11 players play from each side, out of which 7 players are from India and 4 players are from overseas.

4)Minimum Over-rate

Most importantly, under the minimum over rate, according to the rules of 2021, it has become mandatory to put at least 14.1 overs in an hour.

Further, in IPL, players are bought by bidding, the team owner who has bid the highest, that player plays with that team. However, before the bidding, the base price of all the players who are participating in the auction is fixed and on that basis, the bidding is started. However, initially, the prize money of IPL was Rs 4.2 Crores in 2008, which was increased to Rs 20 Crores in 2018-19. But in 2020-21 due to the Corona pandemic, it was reduced by 50% to 10 Crores. Now the winning team in 2021 will get 10 crores and the second team will get Rs 6.25 crores. The team at number three will be given 4.3 crore rupees.

How many matches are there in IPL

A total of 60 matches are played in the IPL. Each team plays two matches against each other, out of which one match is played at its own home ground and the second match is played at the home ground of the opposite team. And, a total of eight teams play in IPL(ipl full form), according to that if each team plays two matches against each other, then (8-1)2 = 14 matches will be played. Out of these 4 teams qualifies for the playoff. The winning team in playoff 1 goes to the final and the losing team joins the winning team in playoff 2.This is how a total of 60 matches are played in IPL.

Most Valuable Player (MVP)

MVP stands for Most Valuable Player, and this award is given to the player who performs the best in the entire tournament. Above all, the Most Valuable Player is determined on the basis of the point system. Firstly, one point is given for taking a dot ball, two and a half points are given for hitting four, and 3.5 points are given for taking a wicket and hitting a six. Most Valuable Player is in a way similar to Man of the Tournament, which was given Man of the Tournament from 2008 to 2012, after which its name has been changed to Most Valuable Player.
