Sanju Samson Biography

Sanju Samson was born on 11 Nov 1994 in Pulluvila, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He started his cricket career in Delhi but later he went on to play for Kerala and showed his talent in junior cricket to the whole country. He made his debut in first-class cricket in 2011 for Kerala.

Apart from this, Sanju made his IPL debut in 2013. He played for the Rajasthan Royals team in the IPL and that year he also managed to win the Amazing Player of the Year award on the basis of his batting performance.

Although in childhood Sanju Samson also used to dream like ordinary boys and he had a dream of becoming an IPS officer but today he is playing cricket for the country.

Sanju’s father’s name is Samson Viswanath and he has worked as a constable for Delhi Police. Apart from this, he had also shown his strength in football and has played for the country in the Santosh Trophy, a football trophy to be held in India.

Sanju’s mother’s name is Ligy Viswanath and she is a housewife. Sanju has an elder brother named Saly Samson who also played cricket for Kerala in junior cricket. At present, he does his work in the AG office.

Sanju Samson spent his childhood in Delhi, near Police Residential Colony, GTB Nagar. He did his schooling at Rosary Senior Secondary School, Delhi, and high school at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Sanju was fond of playing cricket since childhood, and for this, he joined the academy under coach Yashpal, which is in Shalimar Bagh.

Sanju could not qualify for the Dhruv Pandove Trophy for Delhi’s Under 13 cricket team for some reason. After this, his father also took retirement from his police force job and after that, they shifted to Kerala.

Sanju holds a BA degree in English Literature from Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram.

Sanju Samson has been a member and captain of the Under-13 Kerala cricket team and won the Player of the Tournament award while being the captain of the Kerala team. He scored 4 centuries in the five matches and scored a total of 973 runs at an average of 108.

After this, Sanju Samson scored a double century while being a member of the Under-15 Kerala team, this match was against the Goa team where he scored 200 runs in 138 balls. He has also been the captain of the Under-16 Kerala Cricket Team and the Under-19 Kerala Cricket, Team.

He has also been selected for the Under-19 cricket team for his impressive performance in the 2010-11 Cooch Behar Trophy. But there his performance was a bit disappointing.
